How to care for alpaca socks? Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Gently press out excess water and lay flat to dry. If machine washing, use a gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry.

I ordered 6 pair and rotated them into my sock rotation. Wore them about every other day to compare to other socks. They do pill up a lot. Getting 4 stars and not 5 because I’m not sure of longevity. One pair the heel was missing some fabric (like socks I’ve worn for years will eventually start to do when an hole is being worn through) and I noticed it after about 4 washes. Sent pictures to the company and was disappointed that the response was I needed to use the warranty claim and pay for shipping for a new pair of socks, or wait until I have an issue with more socks and then pay shipping only one time. They did send me 2 pairs when I did the warranty claim, but was out shipping costs for something that I’m hoping wasn’t a common problem for wearing 4-5 times and no dryer after washing. And no strenuous activity…just walking around at the school I work at.

I tried Clohill Alpaca ankle socks along with alpaca socks from three other sock companies. The Clohill Alpaca ankle socks are thicker with more cushion on the bottom than the other brands and are now the socks that I wear on a daily basis. Their XL size are also a little roomier than the other brands XL size as well, making them easier to put on than those other brands. My only wish is that the Clohill name that goes around the cuff of the sock was a different color than bright green. Maybe a dark grey or even white, as the green color does not match too many colors. Just a suggestion, but does not take away from these being the best alpaca ankle socks on the market. Another wish would be for Clohill to offer no-show alpaca socks as well.
